Enes Kanter Freedom claimed two “gentlemen from the NBA” begged him to put off sneakers that mentioned “Free Tibet” simply moments before a sport.

The backup Boston Celtics center has been vocal about a couple of social and political problems with late, including human rights abuses in China.

“I keep in mind that carrying those sneakers proper prior to the sport… two gentlemen came from the NBA and stated, ‘take these footwear off,’” Freedom mentioned in a new interview with Megyn Kelly on her SiriusXM show. “I’m like, ‘Excuse me?’ I used to be like, ‘I’m not taking the shoes off.’”

Freedom told Kelly regardless of his reluctance to cast off the sneakers, the NBA continued.

“They have been like, ‘Pay attention, I’m begging you to take the sneakers off,’” Freedom stated.

Freedom stated he asked if he used to be breaking any NBA principles, to which the staffers stated he wasn’t. Freedom then replied, “There’s 27 Amendments. My first modification is freedom of speech and also you’re taking that faraway from me.

“Go inform your boss, I don’t care if I get banned or fined, I’m not taking the sneakers off,” Freedom mentioned he advised the lads.

Freedom, who performed zero minuets that game, stated he was once allowed to put on the sneakers after standing his ground. “At halftime they came and apologized,” he mentioned.

“I had a conversation with Adam Silver, I asked Adam, ‘I’ve been getting so much like blowback and a lot pressure from the league, am I breaking any ideas?”

When Silver responded that he wasn’t, Freedom said he replied: “oK then, any longer I don’t need any person to come back from the league to tell me take my shoes off.”
