Two Democratic state senators in New York have apologized for keeping a banner that compared local weather swap to 9/11.

WNYW pronounced Sens. Rachel May and Robert Jackson, respectively of Syracuse and New York Metropolis, attended a Tuesday rally to ask for $15 billion for “climate justice.”

While on the rally, Could and Jackson had been each photographed holding a controversial banner.

Republican state Sen. Rob Ortt of New York’s 62nd district fast posted an image of his colleagues with the banner.

The image showed an airliner approaching the twin towers. The airplane used to be stamped with the phrases “CLIMATE CHANGE,” and it appeared to be making a beeline towards the towers.

The banner also referred to as on America to “get up.” Ortt referred to as the photo “shameful” for its “use of Sept. 11 imagery.”

He tweeted, “My colleagues @SRachelMay and @SenatorRJackson are the usage of a horrific assault on our Nation to enhance their political agenda.”

This shameful use of 9-11 imagery offends every New Yorker.

Jackson quick apologized in a thread on Twitter. He claimed he was once ignorant of what was once on the banner.

I did not observe the small print of the paintings and would never make stronger anything else that denigrates the reminiscence of all who were impacted by means of 9/11. The art work depicted is fallacious and I fully reject it. 2/5

She also claimed she was unaware of what used to be on the banner when she posed for the photograph.
