Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) continued defying a majority of Home Republicans on Wednesday evening, hours after she introduced she’s going to pressure a vote on whether to take away Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) from his position.

Greene has criticized Johnson’s stewardship of the House, which has authorized a collection of brief-term funding payments to maintain the federal government open and in addition a number of foreign support programs.

“I think the American people wish to see a recorded vote,” she introduced at a press conference prior within the day. “Is that this what they toughen? I think each member of Congress must take that vote and let the chips fall the place they may. And so next week, I am going to be calling this motion to vacate, absolutely calling it.”

Later that night, she spoke with CNN’s Manu Raju.

“What you guys want to be aware of is I in point of fact don’t give a rat’s ass what anybody up right here says about what I’m doing,” she stated while standing on the steps of the Capitol.

In a separate clip, CNN aired a reporter asking Johnson if he’ll step down ahead of the vote.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene has known as on you to resign,” the reporter requested. “Sir, quickly, will you resign?”

“Of course no longer,” the speaker spoke back. “It’s absurd. ”

Greene filed a motion to vacate the chair in March, however declined to power a vote of the House on the time. Now, she is availing herself of the foundations of the decrease chamber, which presently enable a single member to set off one of these vote.

Johnson became speaker in October after the Home voted to get rid of Kevin McCarthy from the place. McCarthy used to be the primary-ever speaker to be ousted.
