Fox & Friends co-host Anna Kooiman apologized on Saturday for airing a false story about President Barack Obama for my part funding a Muslim museum in the course of the shutdown, a story that turned out to have been revealed through the satirical web page National Report.

“Ultimate weekend, we talked about a story about the President funding a Muslim museum all through the shutdown,” Kooiman said. “We made a bad mistake via reporting a story in keeping with terrible research that was once not true. We apologize for now not checking the tips, and for allowing the story to make air.”

Kooiman tweeted a more circumspect apology on Sunday, but criticism only installed over the next few days:

For the document, the International Museum of Muslim Culture in Jackson, Mississippi is an unbiased museum and as a result not plagued by the shutdown.
