CNN’s chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju asked Senate Minority Chief Mitch McConnell (R-KY) if he would try to clear the “bad blood” between himself and Donald Trump following the January sixth Capitol assault.

McConnell is about to fulfill with Trump, the birthday celebration’s presumptive presidential nominee, for the first time given that he left place of work back in January 2021. Following the Capitol assault by way of Trump’s supporters, McConnell publicly condemned Trump and demanded the birthday party transfer on from him.

However, Trump’s dominating victory in the GOP main led to McConnell taming his outward criticism towards the previous president. Back in March, McConnell officially endorsed Trump for the presidency after blaming him for the “disgraceful” riots on the Capitol lower than three years ago.

Trump has also launched vicious assaults on McConnell and his wife, who Trump referred to as “Coco Chow” in infantile insults. McConnell is married to former Trump Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, who later requested the media to prevent repeating Trump’s “racist taunts” directed at her.

Raju asked McConnell all the way through a Wednesday press convention if he plans on confronting Trump over the Capitol assault:

RAJU: You haven’t spoken to Trump in view that December 2020 from what we consider. Do you plan to confront any of the dangerous blood between the 2 of you, or any of the problems you had, including over January 6th?

MCCONNELL: , I mentioned three years ago, proper after the Capitol was once attacked, that I might strengthen our nominee regardless of who it used to be, together with him.
