Democratic Congressman Accuses GOP Candidate of Being ‘Latina When It Suits Her’

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) accused a Arizona Republican congressional candidate of being “Latina when it suits her.”

Tanya Contreras Wheeless is operating in the GOP major in Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District on Aug. 2.

On Tuesday, Wheeless tweeted, “I’m not a taco, however I am a proud, conservative Latina who seems to be forward to flipping #AZ04 in November!” This used to be based on First Girl Jill Biden comparing Latinos to “breakfast tacos” all over a speech on Monday. Thru her spokesperson, Biden apologized.

“Tanya is Latina, Cuando le conviene,” tweeted Gallego on Wednesday. The Spanish interprets to “when it fits her.”

Wheeless fired again at Gallego in a tweet that incorporated a full observation, which known as his tweet “sexist and racist.”

“Hey @RubenGallego! Many ladies exchange their final identify when they get married, but that doesn’t exchange who they’re or where they came from. I am proud of my heritage and who I am – lately and daily. I will use my name when and the way I want,” she tweeted.
