Vogel argued the talk had been placed on the books by means of a completely totally different campaign and that Biden canceled it when he ended his reelection bid, and therefore he’s no longer cancelling a debate with Harris.
Biden exited the race two weeks ago after his debate performance in opposition to Trump in June ended in calls from inside his own celebration for him to step down. As the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris has given that known as on Trump to debate her on ABC on Sept. 10.
Trump introduced in a Truth Social submit that he would no longer attend the discussion board and as a substitute claimed he’d “agreed” with Fox News on a Sept. 4 debate.
The Harris marketing campaign put out a response announcing Trump is “running scared” from dealing with Harris, and Democrats quick started out to unfold the phrase “coward” on social media. The Vice President sooner or later posted on her own X/Twitter account taunting Trump.
It’s attention-grabbing how “any time, any place” turns into “one particular time, one explicit secure area.”

On CNN Saturday, Vogel joined anchor Jim Sciutto and Democratic Celebration strategist Maria Cardona to talk about the again-and-forth between the two sides.
Cardona’s position used to be that Trump had agreed to debate the Democratic nominee and that he will have to sq. off in opposition to Harris. Vogel disagreed:
Number one, it’s essential to take into account that. We had a Biden campaign and a Trump campaign. And for the first time in American history, we had a presidential campaign go blue reveal of death. Actually, totally brick and meltdown and the celebration, on a dime. has stated we’re going to anoint someone new.
[…]
It’s a special campaign, it’s a fully different dynamic that therefore, let’s have a conversation about tips on how to debate/ The American folks deserve frankly, to be offered to [Harris].
Vogel said Harris had struggled in several 2020 Democratic Primary debates ahead of she not directly dropped out of the race and argued he believed Trump wish to debate her.
While referring to the ABC debate Cardona asked, “Why now not just keep it? That’s what they agreed to.”
