Mark Cuban joined Fox News for an interview on Wednesday where he slammed former President Donald Trump’s financial policies as “insane.”
The billionaire investor gave his remarks to network anchor Neil Cavuto, who requested Cuban why he had attacked the GOP nominee’s economic agenda in advance of the November election.
On the marketing campaign path, Trump has proposed tariffs on imports whereas slashing taxes and rules for U.S. companies.
Cuban told Cavuto on Wednesday that Trump’s plan was once “the definition of insane”:
CUBAN: Well, to begin with, strategic tariffs aren’t bad. So if a country is attempting to dump in america and we have a manufacturer there, tariff them. That’s great. But throughout-the-board tariffs [of] 10 or 20% is solely inflationary. It’s a tax on the American consumer. But to make matters even worse, what’s truly insane, whilst you threaten a legendary firm like John Deere with a 200% tariff in the event that they move, however best a 10 or 20% tariff on China, what you’re doing is you’re making it simple for the Chinese competitors to take business faraway from John Deere. That’s the definition of insane.
CAVUTO: Quite A lot of your online business colleagues say the definition of insane is supporting Kamala Harris. Yet you do. You’re a smart, savvy businessman. You came from nothing to be a multibillionaire, so that you’re pretty good at what you do. What do you see in her that you don’t see in Donald Trump?
CUBAN: I believe she’s thorough. For those who have a look at Donald, when he talks about his insurance policies, they’re very impetuous. They’re impulsive. They’re, you know, set to compare whatever is taking place at a rally. Whereas with the Harris campaign and Kamala herself, she’s very thorough. She’s very actual. Her workforce in point of fact vets each idea. And to me, that’s necessary as a businessperson as a result of you can belief what she says. Think about what occurs when Donald comes out and says, I’m going to place a ten% cap on bank card rates of interest. The subsequent factor that happens isn’t that he explains why. It’s that everyone around him explains what he says. He can’t provide an explanation for it for himself. Everyone’s got to explain for him. Or whether it’s a ten or 20 or 60% tariff or the 200% on John Deere. With Kamala Harris, no one has to give an explanation for for her. She takes the time to vet her insurance policies totally, and once she says them and presents them, they’re what they’re. They’re self-explanatory.
