Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) counseled his fellow Democrats for pushing aside Elon Musk’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump Sunday, describing the billionaire tech CEO as “brilliant” and influential.

Fetterman joined Chris Stirewalt on this week’s adaptation of The Hill Sunday to talk about the likelihood Democrats may lose the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in three weeks when he warned that writing off Musk as an eccentric non-factor in the election can be unwise.

“It’s the last word pink state and all of that,” the senator mentioned of Pennsylvania. “I’ve by no means mentioned that Pennsylvania is not a blue state. People assumed after 2012 that Pennsylvania is a straightforward layup, you know, for Dems and I’m like, ‘No, that’s simply not that’s that’s not actual.’” Fetterman persevered:

Trump has now made it so competitive. And I would like individuals to take into account how how how common he’s in Pennsylvania. And one thing, you recognize, in truth, that really does have me involved greater than the polls. The polls is what I anticipated. But you recognize, now he is the usage of and Musk is willing to in truth exhibit up at some of these rallies. And I witnessed that in Butler County a few days in the past. , Musk is – most endorsements don’t depend for a lot on this industry. But Musk is very well-liked and he has an appeal to a demographic that Democrats had been and [struggling] with the care and to a couple folks, they see him as, that’s Tony Stark.

He’s the world’s richest man. And he’s undeniably an excellent man. So, I believe that that is the state of affairs for Democrats. We would have to renowned that. And it seems now, I see that on the entrance web page of The New York Occasions, now speaking about it. So that that’s a big development for me in Pennsylvania that it will think would most effective make it extra aggressive right here in my state.

Stirewalt then asked, “Who’s it that Kamala Harris must convey to counteract that? Is it Joe Biden? Who’s the person that wants to come in for her to counteract the vitality with Elon Musk, rather then you, clearly?”

Fetterman cited Musk changed into a punchline after he jumped up and down onstage with Trump on the Butler rally however again said he believed the Tesla CEO was once a drive to be reckoned with.

“The Harris marketing campaign has plenty of surrogates and important varieties of endorsements,” Fetterman said. “However I’d simply say that it’s like, you already know, some Democrats simply, , just mock Musk and that, you realize, we are able to chuckle at this. We can goof at it. He’s leaping up and down and those things. Michael, , we ignore that is problem. , we I believe lets try this [at] our peril.”
