North Korea Reportedly Arrested Its Second American Citizen in the Last YearTwo Americans were arrested beneath dubious cases while journeying with reputable visas in North Korea throughout the closing calendar 12 months. The latest, a veteran from Palo Alto, California, used to be allegedly detained remaining month.  The San Jose Mercury News has recognized Merrill Newman, an 85-yr-outdated Korean Battle veteran, former highschool trainer, and former chair of Palo Alto's American Purple Pass chapter, as the second American citizen arrested in North Korea this 12 months. North Korea Information corroborated the story with an unnamed diplomat in Kyodo, who said the elderly American entered North Korea for sightseeing in October.
