Even if New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) promised to improve Donald Trump as a potential 2024 GOP nominee, he overtly assessed that the previous president wouldn’t defeat President Joe Biden in a rematch.
Talking with ABC’s Jon Karl on Sunday, Sununu addressed recurring speculation about his entry into the 2024 Republican major. After Sununu played coy about whether or not he plans to enroll in the fray, Karl noted a new ABC Information-Washington Post poll which found that 58 % of left-leaning voters don’t need Biden to run for re-election, while virtually 50 percent of Republicans don’t want Trump nominated once more either.
“You saw what our poll mentioned about Trump-Biden,” Karl stated. “Do you suppose Donald Trump can beat Biden?”
“No,” Sununu answered. “I think the 2022 midterms showed us that. Trump is gonna be considered as an extraordinarily extreme candidate, the usa will push back against it. Just look at the consequences of three months in the past, and that shows you the place excessive candidates are going to prove falling. It can’t get done. He might get the nomination, however he can’t get it accomplished.”
Sununu has overtly jabbed at Trump previously, though this newest prognosis comes days after he mentioned he would again Trump if the ex-president does finally end up getting nominated by means of the GOP. In the meantime, Trump has refused to pledge his beef up to a Republican rival who beats him to the nomination.
