Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) denounced Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) name for “nationwide divorce” on Monday.

In a Twitter put up on Monday, Greene referred to as for the U.S. to “separate by way of purple states and blue states and cut back the federal executive.” Her effective name for the united states of america to split in two was widely condemned.

Cox fired back in his personal tweet, describing Greene’s suggestion as “evil” and recommending “marriage counseling” for the nation instead.

“This rhetoric is harmful and unsuitable and—in truth—evil. We don’t desire a divorce, we’d like marriage counseling. And we need elected leaders that don’t revenue by tearing us aside. The Republican governor went on to claim he witnessed “American Exceptionalism at work” all over the Nationwide Governors’ Association, posting photographs of him seated subsequent to Democratic officers.
