Sen. Rand Paul says that one in every of his staffers was once stabbed a couple of occasions over the weekend within the nation’s capital.

The assault took place around 5:17 p.m. on Saturday on the 1300 Block of H St. NE, consistent with a police file.
“The victim used to be transported to a neighborhood sanatorium for therapy of lifestyles-threatening injuries,” the report said.
Police arrested 42-year-old Glynn Neal, of D.C. and charged him with assault with intent to kill. There’s no word yet on a purpose for the stabbing.
The senator himself was assaulted by a neighbor in 2017 over a yard waste dispute, leaving Paul with broken ribs. The attacker was identified as Rene Boucher, a 59-12 months-old resident of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He used to be charged with assaulting a member of Congress and took a federal plea agreement.
Paul testified in a virtual hearing that he flew within the air when Boucher tackled him and was left with a “significant harm that I’ve lifelong signs from.”
“I don’t be aware of what a night without pain is like or what a day with out pain is like, so I do endure from this. This was once no routine altercation. This was no kind of face-to-face, man-to-man factor,” Paul testified at the time.
Boucher advised the court docket he’d “had sufficient” of Paul’s yard repairs habits “after he saw him stacking brush right into a pile on his own garden that was once near Boucher’s property,” in keeping with court records.
He used to be sentenced to six months of house confinement and acquired credit for the 30 days in detention center he had already served.
In a separate civil case, Boucher was once ordered to pay Paul more than $580,000 in damages.
