CNN anchor Jim Acosta praised President Joe Biden for his farewell message and brought a rebuke of President-elect Donald Trump as he defended and celebrated the free press on his convey on Thursday.
Biden took to the Oval Administrative center Wednesday night to deliver a farewell address to the nation through which he sounded the alarm about “a deadly focus of energy,” and also lamented that “The free press is crumbling. Editors are disappearing. Social media is giving up on fact-checking. In fact smothered with the aid of lies instructed for power and for profit.”
On Thursday’s edition of CNN Newsroom With Jim Acosta, the anchor seconded Biden’s message — but brought his personal spin to it, and published an indication that was once given to him through a viewer at the dawn of the primary Trump administration:
Thank you excited by becoming a member of me this morning. I want to take a second to speak about something President Biden mentioned all the way through his farewell handle.
He warned the free press is crumbling on this u . s . a .. I might add that’s only if we, the folks, let that happen.
Journalists exist to are seeking for the reality, to inform people stories, to elevate up voices that is probably not heard in any other case, to shine a mild on injustice, and to hold the highly effective responsible. We are not the enemy of the folks. We are the defenders of the folks.
