The Home Freedom Caucus launched a statement on Thursday vowing “no additional dialogue” on raising the debt ceiling until the Senate passes the House bill, which might carry the borrowing restrict while cutting spending.

“The U.S. House of Representatives has accomplished its job in passing the Restrict, Store, Grow Act to offer a mechanism to lift the debt ceiling. This regulation is the respectable position of the Home Freedom Caucus and, by means of its passage with 217 votes, the complete House Republican Conference,” the caucus wrote, adding:

The Home Freedom Caucus calls on Speaker McCarthy and Senate Republicans to make use of every leverage and gear at their disposal to ensure the Limit, Save, Develop Act is signed into law. There must be no additional dialogue except the Senate passes the law.

CNN’s Manu Raju caught up with some contributors of the caucus and requested for more details on their stance. “So you’ll be ok with vote casting with one thing not up to what the House?” Raju asked Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC).

“We’re no longer going to just accept anything rather than what we put. I’d counsel that… McCarthy must not meet unless he [Biden] put something in writing. His words don’t have any which means. Put it in writing if it’s the rest less. We’re not going to just accept it,” Norman answered, regarding the House invoice.

“You don’t suppose he’s going to make any modifications and a compromise with the White House?” Raju asked Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) in regards to the prospect of McCarthy compromising with Biden.

“Why would we? We’ve a profitable hand,” Biden shot back.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned that if no deal is reached by way of June 1 the U.S. could face an economically catastrophic default on its debt. The House invoice would lift the U.S. borrowing restrict via $1.5 trillion and initiate $4.eight trillion in spending cuts. President Joe Biden has made clear his unwillingness to use debt ceiling negotiations to make spending cuts and has urged House Republicans to use the budgeting process as an alternative.

Senate Majority Chief Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called the House bill “lifeless on arrival” in the Senate and Biden has vowed to veto it must it make it to his desk.
