CNN president Jeff Zucker’s remarks about Fox News at the day past’s Tv Critics Affiliation experience were so explosive that much of his other commentary acquired swept apart. However ThinkProgress’ Alyssa Rosenberg, who was in attendance, put her center of attention on a separate difficulty: Why did CNN let S.E. Cupp, who also works for Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze, sit down for a one-hour interview together with her boss closing month?

“We’ve needed to have Glenn as a guest on CNN, and he or she felt that she could do a good brokered interview with him,” Zucker defined, adding, “He was prepared to do it together with her.” Cupp, who was once introduced over to CNN from MSNBC to serve as one of the vital conservative hosts of the rebooted Crossfire, took over Piers Morgan Are living on a Friday evening in late December for a full hour interview with Beck. When she’s not on CNN, Cupp works as a paid contributor for TheBlaze.

In line with Rosenberg, Zucker “declined to give an explanation for whether or not Beck had been approached by using different CNN newshounds, whether the community discussed having another journalist behavior the interview with Beck after Cupp made the invitation and Beck well-known, or whether Beck would only seem on CNN if Cupp used to be the journalist interviewing him.”

“We utterly revealed the relationship between the two,” Zucker mentioned. “We’re very up entrance about it and felt that he was an awfully fascinating particular person to interview and had no issues having her do it so long as you recognize, I think it’s in all these items I believe when you’re transparent with the target market and you tell them up front that ‘I work for him, and sure, I’m interviewing him,’ I think that, you recognize, in most of those situations, you are able to do it so long as you’re up entrance and honest with the target market.”

Cupp will have disclosed her business relationship with Beck all the way through the real interview, but as Media Issues stated, it didn’t come up when she promoted it that morning on CNN’s New Day.
