Talking on the NATO summit in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, President Joe Biden offered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “President Putin.”

Vladimir Putin, of course, is the Russian president who initiated a conflict of aggression in opposition to Ukraine beginning in February 2022.

“And now, I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as so much courage as he has resolution,” Biden stated. “Girls and gents, President Putin.”

As folks in the room started out clapping, Biden went back to the microphone.

“President Putin?” he said. “He’s gonna beat President Putin. President Zelensky. I’m so interested by beating Putin, we gotta fear about it.”

“I’m better,” Zelensky joked.

“You’re a hell of significantly better,” Biden spoke back.

Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs pronounced that people within the room mentioned “Zelensky,” which caused Biden to make the correction.

Biden is going through severe questions from Democratic officers and donors about his psychological acuity in the wake of his disastrous debate two weeks in the past. Subsequent unscripted appearances have rarely allayed fears about his capacity to defeat former President Donald Trump in November and serve some other four years.
