President Joe Biden cracked clever when a reporter joked he will have to no longer predict “softball questions” just because he was calling only on women at a global press conference.

The president held a press convention in Hanoi to cap off his go back and forth to the G20 summit in New Delhi, India and his diplomatic meetings with Normal Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng in Vietnam.

Biden took questions from a list of pre-selected journalists, as is prevalent. However a sample emerged that VOA correspondent Anita Powell observed and remarked on, drawing a self-effacing quip from the president:

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Group of workers, anybody haven’t spoken.. (inaudible) Now I ain’t calling on you, I’m calling on, I informed you, like 5 questions. Anita, VOA.

ANITA POWELL: Thank you, Mr. President. I am hoping you didn’t assume that calling handiest on ladies would get you softballs tonight.

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: I do know better than that.

ANITA POWELL: oK, neatly, let me start with…

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: When you sent me a softball I wouldn’t know what to do with it, I’d almost definitely strike out even worse!

ANITA POWELL: But let me ask you about you’ve spent a lot of time talking about all the time you spent with President Xi and the importance of leader to chief conversation. Yet you two haven’t spoken in ten months. And I just surprise, are you involved that that is destabilizing the US-China relationship and what are you going to do about it? After which, if I could, on Ukraine, sir, he is upset that the G20 conversation didn’t named Russia as the aggressor. Have you ever managed to rally more support or sympathy throughout the G20, or is that this rising as a wedge difficulty with the worldwide South? And does that modify your commitment to Ukraine?

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: It’s not a wedge issue within the international south it’s a wedge issue with Russia’s president and with China which is existing, which has illustration. And so and by the way, I’m, my workforce. My staff still meets with President Xi’s folks in his cupboard. In truth, I met with his quantity two individual here in excuse me, in India as of late.
