President Joe Biden falsely said Thursday at the White Home he “never stated a bad factor” about late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

On its face, the claim was once hard to believe. McCain ran a presidential marketing campaign in 2008 through which Biden was one-half of of the opposition ticket.

A quick search of reporting from the marketing campaign finds Biden likened the Arizona Republican to the 1/3 coming of George H.W. Bush and accused him of taking the “low road” to the White House.

Biden posthumously awarded his late friend and Senate colleague the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Thursday.

“We agreed on much more things than we disagreed on,” Biden stated. “I never stopped admiring John. I never mentioned a negative factor about him in my existence.”

Biden added, “I’m the fellow who inspired John to head house and run for administrative center. For actual.”

“I by no means stopped admiring John. By no means mentioned a terrible thing about him in my existence because I knew his honor, his braveness and his commitment.”

In what must come as a surprise to no person, Biden made a lot of bad statements about the then-Republican presidential nominee throughout the campaign.

In October 2008, Biden derided McCain as a “sidekick” all through remarks in Tampa, Florida.

“You could’t name yourself a maverick when all you’ve ever been is a sidekick,” Biden said of McCain.

He later added, “[W]hat a majority of American people are on the lookout for — a gentle hand, management, an optimist; not an indignant man, lurching from one position to every other.”

In September 2008, Biden related McCain to the Bush political dynasty all the way through remarks in Michigan. Biden mentioned:

Just as George Herbert Walker Bush was nicknamed “Bush forty one” and his son is nicknamed as “Bush 43,” John McCain might easily turn out to be often called “Bush 44.”

Thomas Ferraro, reporting for Reuters in October 2008, wrote:
