President Joe Biden’s White House roasted Republicans over a “so much-hyped witness” they are saying ended up “debunking” claims against Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
Former Hunter Biden trade accomplice Devon Archer testified for Congress in the back of closed doorways Monday, and while Republicans have not had so much to claim, Democratic New York Congressman and House Oversight Committee member Rep. Dan Goldman has been outspoken in making the case that the testimony backs up the president.
And in a remark emailed to Mediaite, White House spokesman for investigations Ian Sams mocked the probe and the “failure” of the testimony to prove “bombshell” allegations:
“It appears that the House Republicans’ own a lot-hyped witness nowadays testified that he by no means heard of President Biden discussing trade with his son or his son’s pals, or doing anything flawed. Home Republicans preserve promising bombshell proof to reinforce their ridiculous attacks in opposition to the President, but time after time, they retain failing to supply any. In fact, even their very own witnesses appear to be debunking their allegations. Goldman has described many factors of Archer’s testimony as exculpatory to the president, saying the witness was once “unequivocal” that the president never discussed business on any telephone calls he described, that he was not aware about any $5 million fee to the Bidens and doubted one exists, and mentioned that the calls in question befell at a time when the president and Hunter were dealing with the surprising sickness and eventual loss of life of Beau Biden.
House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) issued a statement accusing President Biden of getting “lied to the American folks when he said he had no data about his son’s trade dealings and used to be now not concerned” but did not cite specifics from the testimony past the existence of the cellphone calls and the movements of Hunter Biden to advertise “the logo” of his connection to his father.
“Devon Archer’s testimony as of late confirms Joe Biden lied to the American individuals when he mentioned he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not concerned. Joe Biden used to be ‘the emblem’ that his son sold world wide to complement the Biden domestic.
