Days after warning of the “catastrophe” Fox News faces from its $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Balloting Techniques, former community host Invoice O’Reilly defended the community from those presuming it’ll be found responsible as charged.
O’Reilly posted an essay on Sunday — a day sooner than Fox Information’ defamation trial in Delaware. In his post, O’Reilly referred to that the case will come down to whether or not Dominion can prove Fox Information acted with malice after they broadcast unsubstantiated claims that the vote casting machine firm defrauded the election to sabotage former President Donald Trump.
O’Reilly conceded “Fox can pay big” if Dominion convinces the jury of the network’s alleged, malicious intent. On the other hand, he pivoted to claim “it would be grossly irresponsible for any person to convict Fox Information without listening to cross-examined sworn testimony in court docket.”
“But that’s exactly what’s going down, as every single company news agency in America has already convicted [Fox News Channel] and is brazenly rooting for the Delaware jury to do the same,” O’Reilly writes. “Malice? You betcha.”
O’Reilly went on to assault CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy, painting him as a “malicious guy” and among folks that need to see Fox lose the trial. This led him to warn that the Fox-Dominion trial “can be coated with malice by using many in the media.”
“The decision has already been rendered in the libel world — the actual trial is a mere formality,” mentioned O’Reilly. “And that’s beautiful malicious, is it no longer?”
Darcy had this to supply in response:
The one time I've ever directly handled @BillOReilly used to be just about a decade ago & he advised me I was once an even reporter!
Outdoor that, that you may already see how the narrative amongst Fox's allies is being set: It's FOX NEWS that’s the victim of the "malicious" media, in their world. p.c.twitter.com/OY3nxJT0ac
