New York Supreme Court Justice Juan M. Merchan multiplied his gag order prohibiting former President Donald Trump from attacking court staff, prosecutors, and witnesses in the “hush cash” criminal trial, now to include the family members of both himself and District Legal professional Alvin Bragg.
In latest days Trump has attacked Justice Merchan’s daughter, calling her a “Rabid Trump Hater” and falsely accusing her of posting anti-Trump pictures on social media. The gag order was once accelerated on Monday evening at Bragg’s request.
“The average observer, should now, after hearing Defendant’s up to date assaults, draw the conclusion that if they turn out to be occupied with these lawsuits, even tangentially, they will have to concern no longer just for themselves, but for their family members as smartly,” wrote Merchan. “Such concerns will indisputably intrude with the fair administration of justice and constitutes an immediate attack on the Rule of Law itself.”
He persisted, “Once more, all electorate, known as upon to take part in these court cases, whether as a juror, a witness, or in every other capability, should now subject themselves not most effective with their own private safety, but with the protection and the potential of personal attacks upon their family members. That fact cannot be overstated.”
This story is growing.
