Former CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter branded Fox Information host Jesse Watters because the network’s new “primetime extremist” on Friday in response to Watters’ comments about Muslims and Arab Americans.
During an interview with Stelter on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, host Pleasure Reid played the viral clip from Nov. 1 of Watters on The Five announcing he has “had it” with “Arab Americans” and “the Muslim world.”
Watters can also be the host of Jesse Watters Primetime.
Reid asked Stelter, “Is it a backside-up thing? Is this the target market craves this and so Fox serves it, or are they engineering this type of necrophilic angle toward American tradition and divisiveness?”
He responded, “withIn the Roger Ailes era, it was prime-down. But now, as you said, it is bottom-up. It’s now pushed by using the target market. The target market is in cost, which is a scary prospect sometimes, even supposing I really like our viewers right now, Joy.”
Reacting to MSNBC’s chyron, which learn, “Jesse Watters takes over from Tucker Carlson as Fox’s high-time extremist,” Stelter mentioned:
I accept as true with your banner a moment in the past. Jesse Watters has taken over as the Fox primetime extremist. They suspect they are, quote, “respecting the target market,” and that’s the quote that comes up time and time once more in the treasure trove of emails from 2020. They think they’re respecting the target audience by giving the target market what they want, however that’s in fact disrespectful, and you understand what? It’s harm the GOP.
Stelter concluded, “Look at what took place to the off-yr elections on Tuesday. I would argue that Fox is in fact once in a while hurting the Republican Celebration that it thinks it’s serving to, and that’s an enchanting dynamic going into 2024.”
