In a look again on the greatest “recreation changers” of 2013, ABC’s This Week singled out Pope Francis for a way he’s modified the image of the Catholic Church global, stylistically extra so than substantively. Cardinal Timothy Dolan praised the brand new Pontiff, saying he’s “shattered the sketch of the church” people have held for years, successfully doing what popes before him have now not.

Dolan advised George Stephanopoulos that the Catholic Church has “not had a just right run of late,” and that’s why what Pope Francis is doing is so vital.

“This pope has efficiently, ultimately shattered the comic strip of the church that his predecessors have tried onerous to do. What’s that sketch? That the church of more or less mean and dour and all the time saying no, and always telling us what we are able to’t do, and always telling us why we will have to be excluded.”

Below the brand new Pope, the imaginative and prescient of the Catholic Church is one who emphasizes “warmth and tenderness,” and whereas he acknowledged that the real doctrine of the church is set in stone, “the best way we present-wrap it” can change.
