MSNBC’s Chris Hayes apparently approved of Rep. Jamie Raskin’s (D-MD) resolution not to run for U.S. Senate, pointing out that “they’re kinda snobs” within the higher chamber.
“Ben Cardin, who’s a senator out of your state, has announced he might not be searching for reelection,” Hayes noted on Tuesday’s All In. “There are people looking to throw their hat in the ring. You made the decision this week that you are going to now not run for Senate. Why’d you’re making that call?”
“Well, yeah, I’m no longer throwing my bandana into the ring at this level,” Raskin said, relating to his head-overlaying, which he has worn considering successfully undergoing remedy for cancer. “We’re nonetheless in the thick of this fight to shield American democracy and democratic institutions in opposition to the autocrats and the theocratic and the kleptocrats like Donald Trump. And I’m precisely where I need to be because the rating Democrat at the Oversight Committee.”
“Well, I believe it’s excellent,” Hayes responded. “Between you and me, I think they’re kinda snobs within the Senate. Simply my two cents.”
The host bid his visitor farewell and went to Alex Wagner for the handoff for Alex Wagner Tonight.
“Snobs within the Senate like Tommy Tuberville – just excessive-minded” she joked, regarding the senator’s bizarre recommendation that White nationalists aren’t racists.
Hayes chuckled.
“As it got here out of my mouth, I was like, is that gonna come again to bite me the following time we’re reserving a senator?” he asked. “However you recognize, just between us.”
“Simply between you and me,” she said.
