Pete Hegseth referred to as the man who would later nominate him as Secretary of Safety “an armchair tricky man.”

President-decide on Donald Trump tapped the previous Fox Information host to steer the Pentagon closing month, but the nominee has been dogged through allegations of sexual assault, public drunkenness, and serial adultery.

On Tuesday, CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski joined OutFront to share a few of his findings about Hegseth.

“He was harshly, harshly critical of Trump within the 2016 Republican primary for lacking nationwide security experience,” Kaczynski mentioned. “He mocked Trump for relying on the cable news for militia advice. He attacked Trump for opposing the Iraq Struggle. He attacked Trump for pronouncing the U.S. shouldn’t have long gone into Afghanistan. After which Trump reversed himself on that.”

CNN then performed a clip of Hegseth on Fox Information in August 2015, two months after Trump announced his candidacy.

Right through the 2016 campaign, Trump attacked Sen. John McCain.
