As so much as 5 inches of snow have been forecast for Monday night into Tuesday and much of the world from Virginia to coastal New England were beneath winter weather advisories, the Nationwide Climate Carrier (NWS) stated in a forecast. Bitter Arctic air within the upper Great Plains and Rocky Mountains is expected to persist through Wednesday, with the coldest climate extending from the Nevada-Utah region into Minnesota, the NWS mentioned. "I don't assume things are going to heat up any time soon," stated Bruce Sullivan, an NWS meteorologist.
