Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) continued their lengthy-running feud during Thursday’s meeting of the Home Oversight Committee.
Moskowitz went off on some of the committee’s witnesses, Mark Krikorian, the manager director of the proper-wing Heart for Immigration Studies. Krikorian had prior to now said that it will were higher for Haitians had they no longer revolted and ejected their French colonizers from the country in 1804.
“My bet is that Haiti’s so screwed up because it wasn’t colonized long enough,” Krikorian wrote in Nationwide Evaluate in 2010 (emphasis his).

“He actually introduced a witness who proffered in this committee that the Haitian folks would’ve been at an advantage had they stayed in slavery for several extra many years,” he said. “Mr. Chairman, I want you to spare you the embarrassment. You will have to strike his words from the report. No? You stand through your remark that the Haitian individuals would’ve been better off in slavery for 30 more years? Or should we strike that for the file.”
Comer remained silent unless Moskowitz’s time was up.
“All right, you’re time’s expired,” Comer mentioned. “I would like to be a fly on the wall while you find out that Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential election and his son pled responsible for corruption.
“Why didn’t you impeach him?!” Moskowitz asked. “Why didn’t you impeach him, Mr. Chairman? Where’s the impeachment vote?”
Comer identified some other member of the committee who talked about Hunter Biden.
“Hunter Biden’s now not the president!” Moskowitz protested.
Comer slammed the gavel and scolded his colleague.
“You need to take your remedy and leave!” he mentioned.
“Mr. Chairman, you’re several decades older than me,” Moskowitz shot back. “We know who’s taking more remedy.”
Moskowitz was needling Comer, as the chair used to be born just eight years before him.
