Former GOP communications director Tara Setmayer described the mud-slinging between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis because the “I know you’re but what am I” strategy.
MSNBC’s Chris Jansing requested Setmayer, “Can anyone really win a slugfest towards Donald Trump?”
“No, we’ve considered this sooner than,” Setmayer mentioned. “That is the very same scenario, almost, as 2015 and ’sixteen. And, Marco Rubio tried that, and we noticed what happened with Marco Rubio getting totally dressed down by using Donald Trump. He was ‘Little Marco,” and that was once the end of that. And, in fact, Chris Christie sacrificing himself in a political kamikaze transfer to take out Rubio, as smartly.
“So, this ‘I do know you are but what am I’ technique we’re seeing developing between Trump and DeSantis, just buying and selling barbs like this, it’s so immature and petulant. This does not exhibit seriousness for somebody who’s working to be the leader of the free world. And, I don’t comprehend, possibly for Republican main voters, they’re entertained by means of this. But when they want an entertainer, they’re going to move with Donald Trump. We’ve already seen this; Because of this Trump is so far in advance of everybody, including DeSantis.”
Setmayer known as the opposite declared GOP candidates, together with Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, and Vivek Ramaswamy, basically just “vainness candidates.”
“So, all of these vanity candidates which can be available in the market are simply going handy this right again to Trump again because none of them are prepared to get out and consolidate behind one particular person, “Setmayer said. “I to find Chris Christie’s entrance into the race probably the most fascinating because, seeing them on a debate stage, that may be something to look at. But Chris Christie is incredibly unpopular with the Republican main voters. So, who’s balloting for him, in what states? What’s his direction? I don’t see it.”
