At a marketing campaign event in New Hampshire on Wednesday, an attendee requested the Republican presidential candidate, “What was the cause of america Civil War?”
The former South Carolina governor did not handle it neatly.
“Neatly don’t come with a very easy question,” she said. “I mean, I believe the cause of the Civil War was principally how executive used to be gonna run. The freedoms and what individuals may and couldn’t do.”
After receiving backlash from liberals and conservatives, she accused the questioner of being a Democratic plant. Haley cleaned up her remarks somewhat by means of acknowledging the central position slavery played in bringing in regards to the Civil War. Alternatively, she said, “it was once also more than that.”
On Friday’s version of The Story on Fox News, guest host Wealthy Edson asked Kurtz a couple of nine-yr-outdated who confronted Haley about her response while comparing her to 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.
“Should you remember that John Kerry from 2004, he was once terrible 10 in 2004,” Edson cited of the boy.
“He wasn’t even alive!” Kurtz exclaimed. “That kid can throw a punch.”
“So, what’s going on here, Howie?” Edson asked.
“Neatly, seem, Nikki Haley is frantically looking to easy up the political mess that she left by using dancing around that question in New Hampshire, pronouncing, ‘I was once looking to make a different point. Everybody is aware of that slavery led to the Civil Battle,’” Kurtz responded. “A question any sixth grader might answer. Instead, she pointed out freedom and what folks might and couldn’t do. What they might do, Wealthy, is personal different human beings.”
Kurtz went on to assert, “The real problem right here is that she is frightened of alienating some MAGA voters by way of speaking about slavery.”
Like other GOP candidates no longer named Donald Trump, Haley is a long way behind the previous president in Republican main polls.
