CNN anchor Jim Acosta traded jabs with House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Ralph Norman over if President Joe Biden is intentionally permitting people to cross the U.S. southern border illegally.

Republican lawmakers and media pundits have criticized the Biden administration over the inflow of migrants coming across the southern border close to Eagle Move, Texas. Town’s mayor declared a commentary of emergency earlier this week after 5,000 migrants enter Eagle Go from Piedras Negras, Mexico.

All over a Sunday interview with Norman, Acosta requested the GOP lawmaker how Republicans plan on addressing the issues at the border if they permit the federal government to shutdown.

Norman answered the Republicans and the general public at huge must put force on the Biden administration to give a boost to safety on the border. He then claimed the administration is “intentionally” no longer securing the border as a result of “they’re doing it for energy.”

The controversy then went off the rails when Acosta pushed again on Norman’s conception.

ACOSTA: What do you imply by way of that? Intentionally doing what? Where is your evidence of this? The place’s your proof of this? It just sounds like you’re throwing rhetoric around without a basis in truth.

NORMAN: Have you been to the border?

ACOSTA: In fact I have.

NORMAN:  Have you viewed what’s going on? The rapes. It’s open. I mean, nobody can deny that. It’s a challenge.

ACOSTA: I’ll ask the questions, sir. And the border is not open. That’s that’s something that’s peddled as a speaking point. That isn’t true. There are there are fences. There are partitions. There are Border Patrol sellers who work on the border.
