Stephen Colbert might now not assist but let loose a “hell sure!” after the House voted to carry Mark Meadows in criminal contempt for refusing to cooperate with its investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Meadows, who served as chief of team of workers to former President Donald Trump, namely refused to conform to a subpoena issued by using the House’s January 6 select committee. While he has passed over documents he has refused to look prior to the committee himself.

“Yes, hell sure! Criminal contempt — and the remainder of us can just keep retaining him in regular contempt,” Colbert said on Wednesday’s Late Convey. “However most effective two Republicans voted for it!”

Colbert went on to assert that aside from Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), the Republican party “doesn’t want you to grasp what came about on January sixth.”

Colbert went after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who defended Meadows as a “excellent man” and his “buddy” whereas on the Home ground on Tuesday night, calling the vote “as mistaken as it gets.”

“No, as mistaken as it gets is ignoring sexual abuse within the showers at Ohio State,” Colbert shot back. “Never forget.”
