Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) instructed CNN’s Melanie Zanona he believed U.S. Capitol police did not have the Nationwide Protect on hand on prior to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack as a result of “perhaps they only wanted it to occur.”

Per his interview with Zanona, he feels as if Capitol police were probably complicit in the violence.

And Nehls, a former sheriff, also recommended that remaining summer’s hearing with Jan 6 law enforcement officials was once an effort to damage Trump.

Two Capitol police officers dedicated suicide in the days following the insurrection, and any other died from a sequence of strokes.
