Fired CNN anchor Don Lemon sat down for his first TV interview considering his departure from the network.
Lemon visited Memphis, TN to deliver a speech before the Memphis chapter of the NAACP and gave an interview to the local ABC affiliate, ABC24. He didn’t get into any of the specifics surrounding his dismissal from the community, but spoke more broadly about his journalistic principles.
“I don’t imagine in platforming liars, and bigots, and insurrectionists, and election deniers, and putting them on the identical footing as people who find themselves telling the reality, people who find themselves preventing for what’s proper, people who are abiding by using the Constitution,” Lemon said. “I feel that will be a dereliction of journalistic accountability doing these sorts of issues. That is what has gotten me thus far, and that is what’s going to elevate me ahead.”
Lemon significantly clashed with Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy which reportedly served as the ultimate straw for several CNN leaders. The former CNN anchor went on to speak about his future, and made clear that he is in no hurry to decide what comes subsequent.
“I’m not gonna drive anything,” Lemon stated. “I’m not gonna let others people’s timeline influence me. I do know individuals say, ‘I miss you on tv.
