ABC Information contributor and former DNC chair Donna Brazile is doubling down on her opposition to the brand new Georgia voting legislation — despite massive early turnout among all demographics including Black voters.
Showing on ABC’s This Week Sunday, Brazile defended her stance on the law in response feedback from former Mike Pence chief of staff Marc Brief criticizing the backlash over the law from many on the left. Quick stated Georgia early turnout is dramatically outpacing the last midterm election in 2018, and argued that the info presentations that the new regulation shouldn’t be in comparison with Jim Crow — despite many Democrats, including President Joe Biden, making that comparison.
“You’ve gotten report numbers of individuals vote casting early in Georgia,” Brief said. “Report numbers of African American citizens voting early. Yet the Democrats are pronouncing it’s Jim Crow 2.zero?”
“It is!” Brazile mentioned. “It’s. Sadly it’s Jim Crow!”
“How is that?!” Quick asked, incredulously.
“SB 202, as you neatly know, lets in someone to problem the validity of a voter,” Brazile responded. “There are lots of African American citizens and others, younger individuals particularly, who are going out to vote and they are being challenged.”
