Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) referred to as out Republicans who voted to expel George Santos from Congress but proceed to strengthen former President Donald Trump.
Santos used to be expelled from the House of Representatives on Friday morning after an Ethics Committee investigation he refused to testify in front of found him at fault for more than one wrongdoings, including using campaign cash on Botox and OnlyFans.
A coalition of Republican lawmakers joined along side Democrats to fulfill the two-thirds supermajority wanted to make Santos the sixth representative ever expelled from the Home. The resolution handed with 311 yeas to 114 nays, with 104 Republicans vote casting in want.
Raskin informed Yasmin Vossoughian throughout an interview on MSNBC that even though he is of the same opinion and voted for Santos’ ouster, the former New York lawmaker’s wrongdoings ‘light as compared’ to the crimes dedicated with the aid of Trump.
“I do really feel as if his offenses, his fraud, his lies, pale in comparison to the lies and fraud of Donald Trump, whose large lie that he received the presidential election, which he lost through more than seven million votes, 306 to 232 in the Electoral School then ended in his incitement of a violent riot in opposition to the Union,” Raskin said.
“And so all those Republicans who voted to expel Santos should drop their make stronger for Donald Trump immediately, who indubitably engaged in some distance greater lies than the rest Jorge Santos ever tried,” he added.
Trump at the moment faces felony indictments in four jurisdictions along with his alleged crimes ranging from mishandling labeled material after leaving place of job, racketeering, and his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
