Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the chairman of the House make a selection committee investigating the Jan. 6 assault, said on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday that there used to be “communique” between contributors of Congress and rioted at the U.S. Capitol.
“Have you seen any evidence, or do you may have any indication that perhaps participants of Congress assisted any of the rioters on that day,” requested Meet the Press host Chuck Todd.
“Yes,” replied Thompson.
He persevered:
now We have quite a lot of knowledge about conversation with individuals who got here. Now, ‘assisted’ means completely different things. Some took pictures with people who came to the ‘Cease the Steal’ rally. Some, you realize, allowed them to come and associate in their workplaces and different things all through that entire rally week. So, there’s some participation.

Thompson brought that “there will be no reluctance” by the committee to subpoena sitting participants of Congress if that you can imagine.
