The organizer of the January 6th rally that preceded the storming of the Capitol appeared on CNN Tuesday, simply hours after testifying earlier than the Home make a choice committee investigating the incident.
Dustin Stockton told Anderson Cooper that former President Donald Trump is guilty for the attack on the Capitol.
“I all the time like to point out that the people who committed violence, the individuals who attacked law enforcement officials or defaced the Capitol are responsible for their own actions, at the start,” stated Stockton on Anderson Cooper 360. “But the buck’s gotta cease at President Trump.”
“He knew higher and there’s no excuse for him sending folks down into that state of affairs with no need the logistics, the protection, the stage and sound system to keep watch over the gang,” he persisted. “That stuff can have been in position, and must had been in position prior to he ever sent folks down there. And the truth that he delayed for so long responding, I think truly speaks unwell of what his intentions were and what he was once doing.”
Stockton’s legal professional, Josh Nass, seemed alongside his client on CNN.
Nass stated that Stockton “didn’t show up today to comply with the subpoena, and to provide testimony out of fear of being held in contempt. He confirmed up these days as a result of he views this as his civic responsibility, and his patriotic responsibility to his u . s . to be fulfilled. The events of January 6th have been a stain on our democracy, a blemish on our republic. He recognizes that to be clear. He’s a witness. That’s why he bought a subpoena. He was no longer involved within the situations of January sixth and in no way concerned in the situations on the Capitol. And, you know, that’s a very powerful and subject material distinction to make.”
