Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) issued a rare, if now not surprising apology on Friday for remarks she made about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

A video surfaced on Thursday displaying Boebert describing how she allegedly once shared an elevator with Omar, who’s a Muslin, at the Capitol. In her telling, a police officer regarded excited about Omar’s mere presence. Boebert supposedly instructed the officer, “Smartly, she doesn’t have a backpack. We will have to be positive.”

She also talked about Omar as “jihad squad.”

Boebert’s feedback drew in style condemnation. Omar known as her a “buffoon” and said the story is “made up.”

On Friday, Boebert apologized to the Muslim community by the use of Twitter and said she had reached out to Omar’s place of job to check out to talk together with her instantly.
