MSNBC host Joe Scarborough compared Vice President Kamala Harris to Sylvester Stallone’s fictional underdog boxer Rocky Balboa as he gloated at Republican panic and former President Donald Trump “melting down” at the Democratic ticket switch up.

Scarborough referred to that “Democrats must be feeling beautiful excellent this morning” and mentioned that “the one factor” Trump “feared was once no longer having Joe Biden.”

The remarks come as Democratic delegates and senior lawmakers back Harris’ run, even though she is yet to be officially verified because the birthday party’s nominee. Public endorsements by means of Biden and the Clintons additionally seem to have cemented the possibility of Harris’ possible candidacy.

Scarborough instructed the panel and viewers: “I’ll let you know, the Republicans are in there freaking out. I imply, you realize, right here’s the article, like, if the opposite aspect is freaking out and going crazy, you already know you’ve received them the place you need them. Democrats have to be feeling beautiful good this morning. I had heard from throughout the Trump marketing campaign for a while at this time that the one thing Donald Trump feared was once no longer having Joe Biden.”

Pivoting to a boxing analogy, the Morning Joe host described Harris as a southpaw like Balboa within the 1976 movie Rocky – a left-handed boxing stance that’s believed to offer the fighter a strategic advantage.

He was once used to going towards Biden, right? What have they finished? They switched it up. It’ll be a southpaw now. Rocky is a southpaw.

Scarborough continued:

For kids scared this morning, go back and notice Rocky. This used to be the one factor that sort of had him melting down. The general public say that over the last month, he’s been extra serene than usual, the trial – the one factor that received to him used to be the idea he would possibly now not be working against Biden – that’s all he’s been serious about considering the fact that 2020. Now you’re hearing [House Speaker] Mike Johnson… all these other folks freaking. ‘That is unlawful. You can’t do this. You can’t make a decision at a conference who your nominee is going to be! You can not. You can not… let the delegates decide.’

Well, yeah? That you would be able to. that You could make a decision at the conference who your -[candidate is]. It is likely one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard in my lifestyles. However, again, the very fact they’re freaking out a lot has to excite a Democratic Party that was in point of fact at its lowest ebb of any celebration I’ve considered for the reason that, let’s say Watergate.

It’s price noting that Scarborough’s analogy is sophisticated by using the fact Balboa is the older boxer in Rocky, albeit up towards a qualified fighter, and, awkwardly, [SPOILER ALERT] loses the championship fight within the first movie.
