President Joe Biden‘s White Home has denounced the “reprehensible” assault on author Salman Rushdie, calling the violence “appalling.”
Rushdie was attacked on Friday before giving a speech on the Chautauqua Establishment in New York. Rushdie has spent many years beneath danger after Iranian leaders advised Muslims to kill the author over his writings.
Late Friday night time, the White House released a statement from National Security Consultant Jake Sullivan, on behalf of the administration, denouncing the attack and offering prayers for Rushdie’s recovery:

Nowadays, the united states and the world witnessed a reprehensible attack towards the creator Salman Rushdie. This act of violence is appalling. Every person in the Biden-Harris Administration are praying for his rapid restoration. We are grateful to excellent electorate and first responders for helping Mr. Rushdie so fast after the assault and to legislation enforcement for its swift and effective work, which is ongoing.

Well known creator Salman Rushdie is on a ventilator and may just lose one eye because of the stabbing attack he suffered whereas turning in a lecture in New York on Friday.
In keeping with the creator’s agent, Andrew Wylie, the seventy five-year-previous Indian-born novelist is unable to speak after the attack, through which he was stabbed within the neck and abdomen. Mr. Rushdie survived the assault thanks to a New York State Trooper who used to be offering safety for the experience, in keeping with New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
