Individuals of the Kennedy domestic introduced that Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy, had died on Thursday morning. She used to be 96 years old.

In posts on Twitter/X, her daughter Kerry Kennedy and grandson Joe Kennedy III provided the next message on behalf of the Kennedy family:

It’s with our hearts filled with love that we announce the passing of our mother, Ethel Kennedy. She died this morning from problems associated to a stroke suffered final week. Along with a lifetime’s work in social justice and human rights, our mother leaves at the back of nine youngsters, 34 grandchildren, and 24 nice- grandchildren, together with a lot of nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly.

She was a devout Catholic and a day-to-day communicant, and we’re comforted in realizing she is reunited with the love of her life, our father, Robert F. Kennedy; her youngsters David and Michael; her daughter-in-legislation Mary; her grandchildren Maeve and Saoirse; and her nice-grandchildren Gideon and Josie.

Please keep our mother on your hearts and prayers.

After her husband was once assassinated in 1968, Ethel Kennedy spent the remainder of her personal life working for the reasons he left behind and elevating their eleven children. Mrs. Kennedy used to be pregnant with the couple’s youngest kid at the time of Mr. Kennedy’s dying; their son David Kennedy died of an overdose in 1984, Michael Kennedy died in 1997 after a snowboarding accident.

The New York Occasionsobituary of Mrs. Kennedy described her as a “den mother, ringmaster, chief practical joker and seasoned political professional at Hickory Hill.”
