A Philadelphia radio station and a bunch who revealed she was once provided questions in advance ahead of an interview with President Joe Biden have parted ways.
In a statement posted to its web page, Sara M. Lomax — President and CEO of WURD Radio — announced that the station and host Andrea Lawful-Sanders “jointly agreed to part methods.” During a Saturday interview on CNN’s First of All with Victor Blackwell, Lawful-Sanders revealed that she asked the president 4 questions given to her beforehand by Biden’s team.
“The questions had been sent to me for approval, I approved of them,” Lawful-Sanders said. She delivered, “I acquired a few questions. Eight of them. And the four that were chosen had been those that I licensed.”
In a post to the WURD website titled, “Accountability, Access and A Direction Ahead: Why Black Media Issues,” Lomax made clear the interview with Biden was once “organized and negotiated independently” with the aid of Lawful-Sanders, without the knowledge of the station’s administration.
“WURD Radio is still an impartial voice that our target audience can belief will grasp elected officers guilty,” Lomax wrote. “As Pennsylvania’s best independent Black-owned speak radio station, WURD Radio has cultivated that trust with our target market over our 20-year history. This is something we take very seriously. Agreeing to a pre-decided set of questions jeopardizes that trust and is not a tradition that WURD Radio engages in or endorses as a matter of apply or legitimate policy.”
Lomax introduced, “WURD Radio will not be a mouthpiece for the Biden or every other Administration.”
