Following public pressure, Starbucks and Coca-Cola introduced on Tuesday they’d droop operations in Russia in line with the Russian armed forces invasion of Ukraine.
In a press unlock, Coca-Cola said “it is suspending its trade in Russia.”
“Our hearts are with the people who are enduring unconscionable effects from these tragic events in Ukraine,” continued the beverage firm. “We will be able to continue to observe and determine the situation as instances evolve.”
In the meantime, in a letter to the Starbucks group, the coffee chain’s president and CEO, Kevin Johnson, stated:
As I communicated Friday, we condemn the horrific attacks on Ukraine via Russia and our hearts exit to all those affected.
We continue to observe the tragic events unfold and, lately, we now have made up our minds to suspend all trade job in Russia, together with shipment of all Starbucks merchandise. Our licensed partner has agreed to instantly pause store operations and will provide improve to the nearly 2,000 partners in Russia who rely on Starbucks for his or her livelihood.
