Vice President Kamala Harris instructed CNN anchor Dana Bash she will be open to appointing a Republican to her cupboard to create a “variety of opinion” in her administration on Thursday.
Throughout CNN’s interview with Harris – the vp’s first on account that she introduced her marketing campaign for the presidency in July – Bash requested, “You had quite a few Republican speakers on the conference. Will you appoint a Republican to your cupboard?”
“Sure, I’d,” responded Harris.
After Bash requested if she had somebody in thoughts, Harris mentioned:

Bash referred to following the interview that it was once no longer extraordinary for a Democratic president to nominate a Republican to their cabinet.
Former President Barack Obama chose former Rep. Ray LaHood (R-IL) to serve as his secretary of transportation in 2009.
