Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is accusing Democrats of “seeking to politicize” the Jan. 6 political attack.

The Republican leader made the top-scratching comment during a Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures

“You watch what they did closing week after we had been out, seeking to politicize January sixth,” McCarthy mentioned. “And all and sundry believes what came about on January sixth was improper past unsuitable.”

While there could also be unanimity that the events of Jan. 6 2021 had been “wrong past incorrect” there may be stark disagreement over the the reason why. A host of Republicans have minimized the assault on the Capitol and as a substitute — taking their cue from former President Donald Trump — have opted to largely focal point on baseless claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Supporters of Trump carried out the assault on the U.S. Capitol in protest of an election the previous president has baselessly claimed was “stolen.” It was once, in fact, an act of political violence — making McCarthy’s claim that Democrats are liable for politicizing the occasions of the day befuddling to claim the least.
