Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and NewsNation anchor Leland Vittert bought into an argument on Tuesday over Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s suitability for “primetime” after Vittert asked whether it used to be genuine that Republicans have been having 2nd ideas.

“Donald Trump could have essentially ended the presidential race on the conference through selecting Nikki Haley as his working mate,” stated Vittert on his NewsNation express On Stability. “As an alternative, he chose JD Vance, firebrand senator from Ohio. Tim Alberta of The Atlantic stories that Republicans are having purchaser’s remorse.”

After Vittert asked Johnson whether studies about Republicans having “purchaser’s regret” about Vance had been proper, Johnson responded, “I don’t suppose so. I’ve served with JD now for just about two years and I don’t really feel he’s a firebrand or bombastic. He’s shrewd.”

Vittert went on to play Johnson a compilation of a few of Vance’s “unflattering” moments throughout a marketing campaign rally in Ohio on Monday, sooner than asking, “Is he prepared for primetime?”

He persisted:

Johnson shot back, “I’m simply not agreeing along with your assessment here. I didn’t hear any phrase salads popping out of JD.
