Who higher to lull you to sleep with his soothing drawl this Christmas than Senate Minority Chief Mitch McConnell, who has a brand new radio campaign ad that puts his personal conservative spin on the classic poem “‘Twas the Night time Prior to Christmas”?
“’Twas the evening before Christmas, 4 years in the past,” McConnell recites. “Liberals wished Obamacare, but Kentucky said no.” He goes on to reference Politifact’s “Lie of the 12 months” involving President Barack Obama’s promise that Americans could keep their present health care plans beneath the Inexpensive Care Act. Later he rhymes his Democrat opponent’s name, Alison Lundergan Grimes, with “candidate for these occasions.”
McConnell neglects to say that due to Democratic Governor Steve Beshear, Kentucky has successfully signed up close to 100,000 folks for medical insurance since the law took impact, or virtually one-fifth of the state’s uninsured population.
