Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) known as Russian President Vladimir Putin a “thug” and a “war criminal” on Thursday, and called for the U.S. to head after him “personally.”
Putin announced simply before crack of dawn on Russian state TV that he had licensed a militia incursion into Ukraine. Russian forces hit key cities, airports, and army armed forces infrastructure nationwide beginning Thursday morning.
It’s unclear at this moment how many people were killed, or what number of Russian infantry troops have entered Ukraine from Russia, Crimea, and Belarus.
Putin said in his tackle to the Russian people that his invasion was for the “demilitarization and de-Nazification of Ukraine.”
In line with Graham, Putin’s actions replicate these of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis at first of the Second World Warfare.
The senator joined host Eric Bolling on Newsmax Television’s The Steadiness to speak about Putin’s brazen moves.
“I’d restrict trip to Russia,” Graham said. “I’d treat Russia as an excessive case of Covid and isolate it.”
Bolling asked Graham, “Sir, I think you tweeted that you would imagine Vladimir Putin a struggle felony, what does that imply?”
“It signifies that he’s a war criminal. It implies that he went into Ukraine, a sovereign nation, and started killing folks by using power of arms. He invaded a sovereign nation in opposition to all legal norms. He’s criminally killing civilians.”
Graham then mentioned a deal between the U.S. and Ukraine from 1994 by which Kyiv agreed to surrender its nuclear arsenal to Russia — the 1/3-largest on the earth — after the autumn of the Soviet Union.
The deal was brokered through the U.S. and its allies, and in alternate, Russia vowed to not encroach on Ukraine’s sovereignty.
“Britain, the USA, and Russia signed that settlement,” Graham stated. “So Putin tore it up like Hitler did, and there must be a value.”
Graham concluded, “So, he’s a warfare prison, but he’s a crook and he’s a thug and we need to go after him personally.”
