CNN anchor Chris Wallace and actor/producer Matt Damon joked about ex-President Donald Trump’s use of a Damon monologue — which has no longer been taken down regardless of his objections.

On this week’s episodes of Wallace’s Max/CNN sequence Who’s Speaking to Chris Wallace, Wallace interviewed Damon and film megastar Laura Linney. The Damon interview was carried out previous to the SAG/AFTRA strike, which caused Damon and his castmates to walk out of the Oppenheimer most popular.

In his interview with Damon, Wallace requested about the video that Trump put out in June following his second indictment, which featured an unauthorized use of a Damon monologue from the film Air.

Wallace pointed out that the video is still up on Trump’s Reality Social account despite Damon’s and director Ben Affleck’s objections, and laughed when Damon joked a few silver lining:

WALLACE: Neatly conversing of politics, the Trump campaign, it is a segway (Oh, no.) posted a video that (Yeah, what came about) during which they used a pitch that you make to Michael Jordan to your latest movie “Air” best they make it to advertise Donald Trump. Have a look.

DAMON: *laughs* I believe they took it down.

WALLACE: Neatly I was gonna ask, did they take it down? Because I know you denounced it you and Ben Affleck.

DAMON: Yeah, we said, you understand, you don’t have our permission to make use of that proper. So…

WALLACE: But the remaining I heard it was still up on front of Trump social.

DAMON: I don’t know what to make of it. I mean, you recognize, he’s more than likely I’m happy they like our writing.

(laughter)

Later, Damon and Wallace riffed briefly concerning the incident as they mentioned Air:

WALLACE: So this buddy, you the first movie that you just put out you and Ben, he directed, you starred in is “Air” in which you play Sonny Vaccaro, the agent who’s looking to persuade Michael Jordan to signal with Nike .

DAMON: And likewise looking to write speeches for the Trump marketing campaign.

WALLACE: And you probably did each. I used to be gonna say here you might be talking to Michael Jordan, to not Donald Trump.

WALLACE: So I suppose that the Trump campaign might no longer use the sneakers part for his or her video. (laughter) It simply wouldn’t have made feel. No, he’s got Brogens or one thing I don’t know, it wouldn’t have labored.
